i’m flying up to AMBASSADORS tonight!
the highest level of girl scouting!
i’ve been doing it since daisies and i finally MADE IT!
Showing the local firefighters some appreciation by donating Girl Scout cookies in honor of what happened in Boston. <3
So, on Saturday I got my Gold Award! Yay! It basically means I got a big fancy award from the Girl Scouts, and it was a lot of fun.
But my hair is an unnatural shade of yellow, as I am now realizing from these photos…
can we discuss that it’s 200 dollars to become a lifetime member.
It’s about $100+ per year to become a member of Girl Guides of Canada. We also unfortunately don’t have the lifetime membership option. :(
I got an interview for an autumn volunteer position at Our Chalet!
Please submit your photos of patches/pins you would like to trade and your location! :]
I am located in Woodstock, Illinois, USA and I currently have seven of these! :D I can also pick up different patches from council if more then seven people want to trade.

Grist Mill Daze
Those summer days
We were higher than the kites we flew
At grist mill top field
Till our shadows stretch and fade
Those summer nights
We were better than we ever were
Running in the moonlight
Till the flashlights chase us away
But that’s where it ended
And that’s where we ended
You said you did it for yourself
Recalling nights of fire’s built
With friends we found in smoke filled rooms
The grist mill dreams of summer
Our lighters flicker in the dark
Peace out Girl Scout

My quilt guild is hosting an event with the Girl Scouts where they make pin cushions and get a badge. I’ve had this fabric laying around for years and had no idea what to do with it. An apron it is!
The original pattern called for it to be completely trimmed in eyelet, but I really didn’t want that, but then I found this eyelet ON SALE and knew it was fate. Just did the pocket for a bonus.
In the end, it was my first time making an apron, using bias tape, and adding eyelet. Can’t complain on how it came out. It’ll be perfect to carry my thread and scissors around.
i just really want access to the flavours of girl guide cookies they have in the US is that so much to ask
Also, in 8th grade, my Girl Scout troop voted on a troop crest. I wanted this unicorn crest and everyone immediately dismissed me by saying “NO THAT’S GAY.” (Haha well duh.) We got a palm tree crest instead. But I still managed to swipe this one for myself. I should put it on my punk vest.
